Guidance and control of a submarine-launched cruise missile
Köklücan, Semih; Leblebicioğlu, M. Kemal.; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2019)
A typical mission profile of submarine-launched cruise missiles begins with the launch phase which covers the motion of the missile from the launch to the water-exit and continues with the boost phase which lasts from the water-exit to the beginning of the cruise phase. In order to achieve the desired range of the launch and boost phases, efficient utilization of available energy which carries the missile to the beginning of the cruise phase is necessary. For this purpose, this study presents a new approach...

Control and guidance of an unmanned sea surface vehicle
Ahıska, Kenan; Leblebicioğlu, Mehmet Kemal; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2012)
In this thesis, control and guidance algorithms for unmanned sea surface vehicles are studied. To design control algorithms of different complexity, first a mathematical model for an unmanned sea surface vehicle is derived. The dynamical and kinematical equations for a sea surface vehicle are obtained, and they are adapted to real life conditions with necessary additions and simplifications. The forces and torques effecting on the vehicle are investigated in detail. Control algorithms for under-actuated six...
Control of a flapping wing micro air vehicle for navigation
Çalış, Özgün; Arıkan, Kutluk Bilge; Kurtuluş, Dilek Funda (2019-09-20)
This paper presents a method to calculate aerodynamic forces and moment of a hawkmoth Manduca sexta wing and to control a flapping wing Micro Air Vehicle (MAV) for navigation. The dynamical model of the MAV is inspired from hawkmoth Manduca sexta and is derived using 6 states. The control inputs are the stroke plane angle and wingbeat frequency. An optimal controller is designed to track the given position reference. It is shown by the simulations that the designed controller satisfies taking-off, hovering,...
