Deterioration Problems of Basalts in Diyarbakır City Walls
Dursun, Felat(2017-08-01)
Diyarbakir province comprises characteristic examples of a geographical region that carries the traces of many civilizations from prehistoric to modern times. The remains and artifacts of civilizations reigned in Diyarbakir can be found all around the city. The Diyarbakir City Walls are one of the unique remains that surround throughout the city. Diyarbakir Fortress, as an important structural design of common mankind product, has saved its importance till the XXI. Century. The fortress is located on a basa...

The effect of coupling of unalloyed Mg and Mg-alloys (AZ91 and WE43) with Ti6Al4V alloy on corrosion and degradation behaviours of produced composites has been investigated in simulated body fluid (SBF) by hydrogen evolution, and surface and electrochemical characterization techniques. Combining of unalloyed Mg with Ti6Al4V intensified galvanic corrosion and catastrophic failure occurred by initiation of microcracks formed by sudden hydrogen gas evolution. In contrast to other composites, Ti6Al4V-AZ91 compo...
