The interaction of terahertz pulses with dc glow discharge plasma
Tosun, Z.; Akbar, D.; Altan, Hakan (2009-09-25)
Transmission of terahertz pulses in DC glow discharge plasma was investigated. Experiments were performed at various discharge currents and moderate pressures. The analysis of the experimental results shows that the transmission of the terahertz pulses through the plasma is dependent on the polarization of the wave with respect to the electric field within the plasma. As a result the transmission decreases as the pressure decreases for p-polarization (perpendicular to the plasma DC electric field). However,...
The effect of supersymmetric cp phases on q(q)over-bar annihilations into charginos and neutralinos
Aydemir, A; Cankocak, K; Sever, Ramazan (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2004-06-07)
We compute the rates for q(q) over bar annihilation into charginos and neutralinos by taking into account the effects of supersymmetric soft phases. In particular, the phase of the p parameter gains direct accessibility via the production of dissimilar charginos and neutralinos. The phases of the trilinear soft masses do not have a significant effect on the cross-sections. Our results can be important for sparticle searches at the LHC.
The effect of the Gaussian profile of the new Higgs doublet on the radiative lepton flavor violating decay
Iltan, E. O. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2006-11-01)
We study the branching ratios of the lepton flavor violating processes mu -> e gamma, T -> e gamma and T -> mu gamma by considering that the new Higgs scalars localize with Gaussian pro. le in the extra dimension. We see that the BRs of the LFV decays mu -> e gamma, T -> e gamma and T -> mu gamma are at the order of magnitude of 10(-12), 10(-16) and 10(-12) in the considered range of the free parameters. These numerical values are slightly suppressed in the case that the localization points of new Higgs sca...
THE SCALAR UNPARTICLE EFFECT ON THE CHARGED LEPTON ELECTRIC DIPOLE MOMENT
Iltan, E. O. (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2009-06-10)
We study the charged lepton electric dipole moment which is induced by the scalar unparticle mediation and we predict the appropriate range for the free parameters appearing in the effective Lagrangian which drives the unparticle-standard model lepton interactions. We observe that the charged lepton electric dipole moment is strongly sensitive to the scaling dimension d(u) of the unparticle and the new couplings in the effective interaction. Furthermore, we see that the current experimental limits of charge...
The effect of curvature-scalar mixing on the annihilation cross sections of the dark matter scalar and unparticle dark matter
Iltan, E. O. (2011-12-01)
We consider the dark matter scalar in the Randall-Sundrum background and study the annihilation cross section if curvature-scalar mixing is switched on. In this case, in addition to the radion, the standard model Higgs scalar drives the annihilation, and it leads to considerable enhancement of the annihilation cross section. Furthermore, we take the unparticle, having a nonzero mass coming from the standard model Higgs-unparticle interaction at low energy levels, as a dark matter candidate and analyze the a...
