Thermal characterization of different origin class-G cements
Kök, Mustafa Verşan (2014-02-01)
In this study, thermal characteristics and kinetics of three different origin class-G cements (Mix, Bolu, and Nuh) were studied using thermogravimetry (TG/DTG) and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). In DSC curves at different heating rates a number of peaks were observed consistently in different temperature intervals. TG/DTG is used to identify the detected phases and the corresponding mass loss. In the dehydration kinetic study of the different origin class-G cement samples, three different methods ...

Thermal behaviour of some metal complexes of N,N-diethyl-N'-benzoyl thiourea
Merdivan, M; Aygün, Rüveyde Sezer; Kulcu, N (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1997-06-01)
The thermal behaviour of the complexes of N,N-diethyl-N'-benzoylthiourea (DEBT) with NI(II), Cu(II), Pt(II), Pd(II) and Ru(III) was studied using differential thermal analysis (DTA) and thermogravimetry (TG). These complexes undergo only a pyrolytic decomposition process. A gas chromatography-mass spectrometry combined system was used for the verification of the first decomposition product and X-ray diffraction method for the characterization of the final products of pyrolysis.
Thermal analysis of gray cast iron by interpretation of cooling curves
Çetin, Arda; Kalkanlı, Ali; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2002)
The aim of the present work is to investigate the relations between data obtained from the cooling curve and its first and second derivatives and the as-cast microstructure of gray cast iron, assuming that the cooling curve reflects the complete history of the solidification process. Fourteen different alloy compositions are prepared in order to obtain statistical predictive models to relate cooling curve parameters with the solidification variables such as chemical analysis, inoculation, graphite shape, pr...
