This paper investigates simple means of analyzing the error rate performance of a general q-ary Galois Field network coded detect-and-forward cooperative relay network with known relay error statistics at the destination. Equivalent relay channels are used in obtaining an approximate error rate of the relay network, from which the diversity order is found. Error rate analyses using equivalent relay channel models are shown to be closely matched with simulation results. Using the equivalent relay channels, low complexity receivers are developed whose performances are close to that of the optimal maximum likelihood receiver.

A new likelihood approach to autonomous multiple model estimation
Söken, Halil Ersin (Elsevier BV, 2020-04-01)
This paper presents an autonomous multiple model (AMM) estimation algorithm for hybrid systems with sudden changes in their parameters. Estimates of Kalman filters (KFs) that are tuned and employed for different system modes are merged based on a newly defined likelihood function without any necessity for filter interaction. The proposed likelihood function is composed of two measures, the filter agility measure and the steady-state error measure. These measures are derived based on filter adaptation rules....
Hierarchical parallelisation strategy for multilevel fast multipole algorithm in computational electromagnetics
Ergül, Özgür Salih (Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), 2008-01-03)
A hierarchical parallelisation of the multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA) for the efficient solution of large-scale problems in computational electromagnetics is presented. The tree structure of MLFMA is distributed among the processors by partitioning both the clusters and the samples of the fields appropriately for each level. The parallelisation efficiency is significantly improved compared to previous approaches, where only the clusters or only the fields are partitioned in a level.
An Upper Bound for Limited Rate Feedback MIMO Capacity
Güvensen, Gökhan Muzaffer; Yılmaz, Ali Özgür (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2009-06-01)
We develop a technique to upper bound the point-to-point MIMO limited rate feedback (LRF) capacity under a wide class of vector quantization schemes. The upper bound turns out to be tight and can also be used to obtain an absolute upper bound by using a bounding distribution for Grassmannian beamforming. The bounding technique can be applied to other problems requiring the exact evaluation of the expected value of matrix determinant.
On the p-ary (cubic) bent and plateaued (vectorial) functions
MESNAGER, Sihem; Özbudak, Ferruh; Sinak, AHMET (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2018-08-01)
Plateaued functions play a significant role in cryptography, sequences for communications, and the related combinatorics and designs. Comparing to their importance, those functions have not been studied in detail in a general framework. Our motivation is to bring further results on the characterizations of bent and plateaued functions, and to introduce new tools which allow us firstly a better understanding of their structure and secondly to get methods for handling and designing such functions. We first ch...
An Upper Bound on the Capacity Loss Due to Imprecise Channel State Information for General Memoryless Fading Channels
Candan, Çağatay (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2013-07-01)
A remarkably simple upper bound on the capacity loss due to imprecise channel state information (CSI) is presented for single-input single-output (SISO) general memoryless fading channels, (Capacity Loss) <= log(1 + var(h - (h) over cap )SNR) where var(h - (h) over cap) represents the variance of channel estimation error, i.e. CSI inaccuracy. The bound extends earlier work on Rayleigh channels to general memoryless channels and confirms that the effect of CSI inaccuracies on the communication capacity is se...
