Polydithieno[3,4-b,3'4'-e]-[1,4]-dithiine (PDTH), being both n- and p-dopable, reveals remarkable color changes as both anodically and cathodically coloring material. In order to investigate its utilization in the electrochromic devices, three different transmissive/absorbtive type polymer electrochromic devices based on both p-type and n-type PDTH were assembled. These are, namely (1) p-type PDTH/poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT); (2) polythiophene/n-type PDTH; (3) p-type PDTH/n-type PDTH. Spectroelectrochemistry, switching ability, stability and open-circuit memory of the devices were investigated by UV-vis spectrophotometer and cyclic voltammetry. These devices exhibit reasonable switching times and stability under atmospheric conditions.

Efficient light emitting diodes from polyfluorene copolymer blends
Çırpan, Ali; Karasz, FE (Elsevier BV, 2005-04-30)
Highly efficient light emitting diodes were obtained by blending blue-emitting poly [(9,9-dioctylfluorenyl-2,7-diyl)-alt-co-(N,N'-diphenyl)-N,N-di(p-butyl-oxyphenyl)-1 ,4-diaminobenzene] (1) with green-emitting poly [(9,9-dioctyl-2,7-divinylene-fluorenylene)-alt-co-{2-methoxy-5-(2-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylene}] (II). Only green emission was obtained from the films of polymer blends and from corresponding double-layer LEDs, indicating an almost complete Forster energy transfer from I to II. These devices sho...
Indigo - A Natural Pigment for High Performance Ambipolar Organic Field Effect Transistors and Circuits

Millennium-old natural dye indigo - a "new" ambipolar organic semiconductor. Indigo shows balanced electron and hole mobilities of 1 x 10(-2) cm(2) V-1 s-1 and good stability against degradation in air. Inverters with gains of 105 in the first and 110 in the third quadrant are demonstrated. Fabricated entirely from natural and biodegradable compounds, these devices show the large potential of such materials for green organic electronics.
One polymer for all: benzotriazole containing donor-acceptor type polymer as a multi-purpose material

A polymer switching between all RGB colors, black and transmissive states was synthesized. The polymer (PTBT) is soluble, processable, both p- and n-dopable, fluorescent and its properties in entire spectrum offer potential uses in NIR devices, LEDs and solar cells. PTBT possesses almost all properties in a single polymer for optoelectronic applications.
Performance evaluation of InAs/GaSb superlattice photodetector grown on GaAs substrate using AlSb interfacial misfit array
Korkmaz, Melih; Arikan, Bulent; Suyolcu, Y. Eren; ASLAN, BÜLENT; SERİNCAN, UĞUR (IOP Publishing, 2018-03-01)
We report on the growth and opto-electronic characterization of type-II InAs/GaSb superlattice (SL) mid-wavelength infrared pin photodetector grown on a GaAs substrate. AlSb interfacial misfit array was employed at the GaAs buffer/GaSb epilayer interface to reduce the dislocation density of the SL structure grown on the lattice mismatched GaAs substrate. Optical and electrical performance of this sample (SL-GaAs) were then compared with the reference sample of the same structure grown on a GaSb substrate (S...
Electronic and optical properties of dibenzothiophen-S,S-dioxide and EDOT based conducting polymers

Among various techniques, utilization of donor-acceptor-donor (DAD) approach is known to be powerful in tuning the color of the conducting polymers. For this purpose, a new DAD type monomer 3,7-di(2,3-dihydrothieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxin-7-yl) dibenzothiophen-S,S-dioxide (EDOTSO(2)) was developed through Stille cross coupling between tributyl(2,3-dihydrothieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxin-7-yl)tin and 3,7-dibromodibenzothiophen-S,S-dioxide. EDOTSO(2) was polymerized electrochemically and the resultant polymer displayed col...
