A solution of the problem of topological classification of real cubic fourfolds is given. It is proven that the real locus of a real non-singular cubic fourfold is diffeomorphic either to a connected sum RP(4)#i(S(2) x S(2))# j(S(1) x S(3)) or to a disjoint union RP(4) (sic) S(4).

Exact Solutions of Effective-Mass Dirac-Pauli Equation with an Electromagnetic Field
Arda, Altug; Sever, Ramazan (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2017-01-01)
The exact bound state solutions of the Dirac-Pauli equation are studied for an appropriate position-dependent mass function by using the Nikiforov-Uvarov method. For a central electric field having a shifted inverse linear term, all two kinds of solutions for bound states are obtained in closed forms.
Relative topology of real algebraic varieties in their complexifications
Ozan, Yıldıray (Mathematical Sciences Publishers, 2004-12-01)
We investigate, for a given smooth closed manifold M, the existence of an algebraic model X for M (i.e., a nonsingular real algebraic variety diffeomorphic to M) such that some nonsingular projective complexification i:X-->X-C of X admits a retraction r:X-C-->X. If such an X exists, we show that M must be formal in the sense of Sullivan's minimal models, and that all rational Massey products on M are trivial.
IMPROVING ITERATIVE SOLUTIONS OF THE ELECTRIC-FIELD INTEGRAL EQUATION VIA TRANSFORMATIONS INTO NORMAL EQUATIONS
Ergül, Özgür Salih (Informa UK Limited, 2010-01-01)
We consider the solution of electromagnetics problems involving perfectly conducting objects formulated with the electric-field integral equation (EFIE). Dense matrix equations obtained from the discretization of EFIE are solved iteratively by the generalized minimal residual (GMRES) algorithm accelerated with a parallel multilevel fast multipole algorithm. We show that the number of iterations is halved by transforming the original matrix equations into normal equations. This way, memory required for the G...
Exact supersymmetric solution of Schrödinger equation for some potentials
Aktaş, Metin; Sever, Ramazan; Department of Physics (2005)
Exact solution of the Schrödinger equation with some potentials is obtained. The normal and supersymmetric cases are considered. Deformed ring-shaped potential is solved in the parabolic and spherical coordinates. By taking appropriate values for the parameter q, similar results are obtained for Hulthén and exponential type screened potentials. Similarly, Morse, Pöschl-Teller and Hulthén potentials are solved for the supersymmetric case. Supersymmetric solution of PT-/non-PT-symmetric and non-Hermitian Mors...
Validity of a linear estimator for the total pi-electron energy of alternant hydrocarbons
Türker, Burhan Lemi (1996-01-01)
The validity of a linear topological estimator formula which possesses a slope k such that 0 < k < 1, where k is dependent on the topology of the system, is proved for the totol pi-electron energy of alternant hydrocarbons.
