A strong converse bound for constant composition codes of the form P (n) e ≥ 1-An -0.5(1-E0sc(R,W,p))e-nEsc(R,W,p) is established using the Berry-Esseen theorem through the concepts of Augustin information and Augustin mean, where A is a constant determined by the channel W , the composition p, and the rate R, i.e., A does not depend on the block length n.

New physics effects to the lepton polarizations in the B -> Kl(+)l(-) decay
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Özpineci, Altuğ; Savcı, Mustafa (2001-09-01)
Using the general, model independent form of the effective Hamiltonian, the general expressions of the longitudinal, normal, and transversal polarization asymmetries for l(-) and l(+) and combinations of them for the exclusive B-->Kl(+)l(-) decay are found. The sensitivity of lepton polarizations and their combinations on new Wilson coefficients are studied. It is found that there exist regions of Wilson coefficients for which the branching ratio coincides with the standard model result while the lepton pol...
A numerical procedure for the solution of oscillatory turbulent boundary layer flow by control-volume approach
Tiğrek, Şahnaz; Isobe, M (1998-09-01)
A general numerical method for the solution of the complete Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations for 1D and 2D oscillatory flow is described. The method uses orthogonal/nonorthogonal co-ordinates, contravariant and covariant velocity components and a pressure-velocity-coupling algorithm for staggered grid system. The capability of method and the overall performance of the k-epsilon model are demonstrated by calculations of flow over flat End rippled beds. Numerical tools that will be required for a rob...
The Sturm-Liouville operator on the space of functions with discontinuity conditions
Uğur, Ömür (2006-03-01)
The Sturm-Liouville differential operators defined on the space of discontinuous functions, where the moments of discontinuity of the functions are interior points of the interval and the discontinuity conditions are linear have been studied. Auxiliary results concerning the Green's formula, boundary value, and eigenvalue problems for impulsive differential equations are emphasized.
Constructing linear unequal error protection codes from algebraic curves
Özbudak, Ferruh (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2003-06-01)
We show that the concept of "generalized algebraic geometry codes" which was recently introduced by Xing, Niederreiter, and Lam gives a natural framework for constructing linear unequal error protection codes.
Note on Niederreiter-Xing's propagation rule for linear codes
Özbudak, Ferruh (2002-04-01)
We present a simple construction of long linear codes from shorter ones. Our approach is related to the product code construction; it generalizes and simplifies substantially the recent "Propagation Rule" by Niederreiter and Xing. Many optimal codes can be produced by our method.
