TL and OSL properties of Mn2+-doped MgGa2O4 phosphor

The oxide MgGa2O4 spinel ceramics doped with Mn2+ ions was synthesized by a solid-state reaction at 1200 degrees C in air. The activator concentration was equal 0.05 mol% of MnO. Phase purity of the synthesized samples was analyzed by X-ray diffraction technique. This spinet ceramics show efficient green emission in the range from 470 to 550 nm with a maximum at about 505 nm under UV or X-ray excitations, which is due to Mn2+ ions. MgGa2O4: Mn2+ exhibits intense thermoluminescence (TL) and optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) after influence of ionizing radiation. Are complex nature of the TL glow curves is associated with a significant number of structural defects that are responsible for the formation of shallow and deep electron traps. In this work, time-resolved OSL characteristics of the samples exposed to beta particles are reported for the first time. A light from green LED was used for optical stimulation. Obtained TL and OSL results suggest MgGa2O4:Mn2+ as perspective material for further research and possible application in radiation dosimetry.

Zinc gallate (ZnGa2O4) spinel ceramics doped with Mn2+ ions was prepared by a solid-state reaction at 1200 degrees C in air. Photo-transferred luminescence from BeO ceramics

Temperature and radiation dose dependences of the thermoluminescence, photo-transferred luminescence signals from BeO ceramics were investigated using blue-green stimulation (420-550 nm). Several deep traps that act as sources for the photo-transferred luminescence signals, located in 400-625 degrees C region of the TL glow curve, were distinguished.

Gallium sulfide (GaS) single crystals were investigated using thermoluminescence (TL) and optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) measurements. TL experiments performed in the room temperature (RT)-450 °C range presented a glow curve consisting in six single discrete peaks.
