Purification of glutathione S-transferases and genetic characterization of Zeta isozyme from Pinus brutia, Ten
Öztetik, Elif; İşcan, Mesude; Department of Biochemistry (2005)
Glutathione S-transferases (GST, EC2.5.1.18) are a family of multifunctional, dimeric enzymes that catalyse the nucleophilic attack of the tripeptide glutathione (?-L-glutamyl-L-cysteinyl-L-glycine) on lipophilic compounds with electrophilic centres. The primary function of GSTs is generally considered to be the detoxification of both endogenous and xenobiotic compounds. Cytosolic GSTs have been grouped into eleven distinct classes as: (A); Alpha, (M); Mu, (P); Pi, (S); Sigma, (T); Theta, (Z); Zeta, (F); Ph...
Purification of CYP2B-like protein from feral leaping mullet (Liza saliens) liver microsomes and its biocatalytic, molecular, and immunological characterization
BOZCAARMUTLU, AZRA; Arinc, Emel (Wiley, 2008-01-01)
In this study, CYP2B-immunoreactive protein was purified to electrophoretic homogeneity from the liver microsomes of leaping mullet. The purified cytochrome P450 (CYP) gave a single band on sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis having a M, of 49,300 Da. Absolute absorption spectrum of the purified CYP showed a maximum at 417 nm and CO-difference spectrum of dithionite-reduced cytochrome P450 gave a peak at 450 nm. The purified CYP was found to be active in N-demethylation of benzphetamin...
Purification and characterization of cytocchrome b5 from sheep liver microsomes

Synthesis of novel indole-isoxazole hybrids and evaluation of their cytotoxic activities on hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines
Hawash, Mohammed; Kahraman, Deniz Cansen; Ergun, Sezen Guntekin; Cetin-Atalay, Rengul; BAYTAŞ, SULTAN (2021-12-01)
Background Liver cancer is predicted to be the sixth most diagnosed cancer globally and fourth leading cause of cancer deaths. In this study, a series of indole-3-isoxazole-5-carboxamide derivatives were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for their anticancer activities. The chemical structures of these of final compounds and intermediates were characterized by using IR, HRMS, H-1-NMR and C-13-NMR spectroscopy and element analysis. Results The cytotoxic activity was performed against Huh7, MCF7 and HCT116...
