Field Weakening Methods for Axially Displaceable Brushless DC Machines
Bostancı, Emine (2018-10-24)
Brushless DC (BLDC) machines are known to have a high torque/power density but it is still a challenge to design a BLDC with a wide extended speed range while keeping its torque/power density high. A mechanical field weakening method, in which the active axial length of a BLDC machine is reduced on run by axially displacing its rotor with respect to its stator, was proposed to achieve a wider extended speed range with a limited DC-link voltage. However, its effectiveness and optimal application are not cons...
Desing of an engine mount with dry friction damping
Boral, Caner; Ciğeroğlu, Ender; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2010)
Automotive engine mounts are used to support engine weight, protect engine from road inputs and isolate transmission of vibrations created by the engine, which has a drastic effect on the noise generated inside the passenger cabin. Most common types of engine mounts are elastomeric and hydraulic mounts, the former having better vibration isolation characteristics whereas the latter displays better shock isolation. Elastomeric mounts are widely used for their low initial cost, while hydraulic mounts with ine...

Line Current Analysis for Bearing fault Detection In Induction Motors Using Hilbert Transform Phase
Oumaamar, M. E. K.; Razik, H.; Rezzoug, A.; Khezzar, A. (2011-09-10)
The present paper focuses by means of an experimental study, on the effect of a bearing fault on the stator current signatures in induction motors. The variation in the amplitude of the characteristic components is not so significant. For that and in order to depict the presence of the fault harmonic signatures, the authors used the phase analysis of Hilbert transform applied on the spectrum modulus of the line current.
