Generating OWL-S Families by Utilizing Business Process Definitions and Feature Models

2009-05-01
ORHAN, Umut
Doğru, Ali Hikmet
This research introduces automated transition from domain models and process specifications to semantic web service descriptions in the form of service ontologies. Also, automated verification and correction of domain models are enabled. The proposed approach is based on Feature-Oriented Domain Analysis (FODA), Semantic Web technologies, and ebXML Business Process Specification Schema (ebBP). This approach is proposed to address the needs for achieving productivity gains, maintainability and better alignment of business requirements with technical capabilities in the engineering of service oriented applications and systems.

A knowledge based product line for semantic modeling of web service families
Orhan, Umut; Doğru, Ali Hikmet; Department of Computer Engineering (2008)
Some mechanisms to enable an effective transition from domain models to web service descriptions are developed. The introduced domain modeling support provides verification and correction on the customization part. An automated mapping mechanism from the domain model to web service ontologies is also developed. The proposed approach is based on Feature-Oriented Domain Analysis (FODA), Semantic Web technologies and ebXML Business Process Specification Schema (ebBP). Major contributions of this work are the c...
Deploying and invoking secure web services over JXTA framework
Görgün, İlhami; Doğaç, Asuman; Department of Computer Engineering (2004)
Web services introduce a new paradigm for distributed computing, and the technology that it introduces constructs a new type of Web application. Web services can be described as any software that makes its discovery and invocation available over the Internet, and uses a standardized XML messaging system. The term peer-to-peer refers to a class of decentralized systems enabling the access of shared resources available on peers that are acting both as client and as server. In this work, a peer-to-peer approac...
Automated Web Services Composition with the Event Calculus
Aydin, Onur; Çiçekli, Fehime Nihan; Cicekli, Ilyas (2007-10-24)
As the web services proliferate and complicate it is becoming an overwhelming job to manually prepare the web service compositions which describe the communication and integration between web services. This paper analyzes the usage of the Event Calculus, which is one of the logical action-effect definition languages, for the automated preparation and execution of web service compositions. In this context, abductive planning capabilities of the Event Calculus are utilized. It is shown that composite process ...

Definition of domain specific components in software product lines based on feature variability
İbrahim Onuralp, Yiğit; Doğru, Ali Hikmet (2015-11-01)
This research proposes a preliminary methodology for the determination of a set of components to populate the domain model of a Software Product Line infrastructure. The approach is based on variability specifications that is rooted in Feature Models and reflected a variable component model: VCOSEML. An initial set of proposed components is modified with respect to the feature constraints and other design metrics such as coupling, cohesion, and size-oriented comp...
