Introduction Radiological scoring systems used in experimental osteomyelitis combine several factors into a single score. Because response of bone tissue to infection is a dynamic process, such systems have limited ability to differentiate between treatment groups. The analyzing of radiological criteria separately at different stages of the disease may be superior to a general score.

Use of a priori information in estimating tissue resistivities-application to measured data
Baysal, U; Eyüboğlu, Behçet Murat (IOP Publishing, 1999-07-01)
A statistically constrained minimum mean squares error estimator (MiMSEE) has been shown to be useful in estimating internal resistivity distribution by the use of simulated data. In this study, the performance of the MiMSEE algorithm is tested by using measured data from resistor phantoms. The MiMSEE uses a priori information on body geometry, electrode position, statistical properties of tissue resistivities, instrumentation noise and linearization error to calculate the optimum inverse matrix which maps ...
Quantitative measurements obtained by micro-computed tomography and confocal laser scanning microscopy
KAMBUROĞLU, KIVANÇ; Barenboim, S. F.; Arituerk, T.; Kaffe, I. (British Institute of Radiology, 2008-10-01)
Objectives: To compare measurements obtained by micro-CT with those obtained by confocal laser scanning microscope in simulative internal resorption cavities.
Effect of solid state power amplifier nonlinearity on various phase shift keying modulation schemes
Dudak, Celal; Koç, Arzu; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2005)
This study concentrates on the performance evaluation of a specific modulation scheme under nonlinear operation. This modulation scheme is the phase shift keying (PSK) modulation, exemplified by the special cases of BPSK, QPSK, OQPSK, p/4-QPSK. The specific nonlinear block is chosen to be the solid state power amplifier (SSPA) structure whose simulation model is the Rapp model. Varying transmitter filter characteristic and one of the power amplifier parameters constitute the main methodology of simulations....
ESTIMATION OF TISSUE RESISTIVITIES FROM MULTIPLE-ELECTRODE IMPEDANCE MEASUREMENTS
Eyüboğlu, Behçet Murat; WOLF, PD (IOP Publishing, 1994-01-01)
In order to measure in vivo resistivity of tissues in the thorax, the possibility of combining anatomical data extracted from high-resolution images with multiple-electrode impedance measurements, a priori knowledge of the range of tissue resistivities, and a priori data on the instrumentation noise is assessed in this study. A statistically constrained minimum-mean-square error estimator (MIMSEE) that minimizes the effects of linearization errors and instrumentation noise is developed and compared to the c...
An investigation of the neural correlates of purchase behavior through fNIRS
Çakır, Murat Perit; Girisken, Yener; Yurdakul, Dicle (2018-01-01)
Purpose This study aims to explore the plausibility of the functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) methodology for neuromarketing applications and develop a neurophysiologically-informed model of purchasing behavior based on fNIRS measurements.
