Starting with the concept of T(A) graphs for alternant hydrocarbons, a novel topological index is defined. The index differentiates isomeric as well as isospectral molecules very well. The index is applicable to saturated or unsaturated systems and can be extended to heteroatom containing structures.

A LOCAL CHARACTERIZATION OF SCHWARZSCHILD AND REISSNER METRICS
GARCIARIO, E; KUPELI, DN (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1994-12-01)
A local characterization of Schwarzschild and Reissner metrics is made by using the concepts of infinitesimal null anisotropy (or equivalently, infinitesimal isotropy) and weak affinity.
A two dimensional euler flow solver on adaptive cartesian grids
Siyahhan, Bercan; Aksel, Mehmet Haluk; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2008)
In the thesis work, a code to solve the two dimensional compressible Euler equations for external flows around arbitrary geometries have been developed. A Cartesianmesh generator is incorporated to the solver. Hence the pre-processing can be performed together with the solution within a single code. The code is written in the C++ programming language and its object oriented capabilities have been exploited to save memory in the data structure developed. The Cartesian mesh is formed by dividing squares succe...
A new time-domain boundary element formulation for generalized models of viscoelasticity
Akay, Ahmet Arda; Gürses, Ercan; Göktepe, Serdar (2023-05-01)
The contribution is concerned with the novel algorithmic formulation for generalized models of viscoelasticity under quasi-static conditions within the framework of the boundary element method (BEM). The proposed update algorithm is constructed for a generic rheological model of linear viscoelasticity that can either be straightforwardly simplified to recover the basic Kelvin and Maxwell models or readily furthered towards the generalized models of viscoelasticity through the serial or parallel extensions. ...
A genetic algorithm for optimisation of linear phase FIR filter coefficients
Oner, M (1998-11-04)
A genetic algorithm is used to design and optimise digital FIR filter coefficients. Given the desired amplitude response of the filter to be designed, algorithm generates the filter coefficients with the specified number of taps and bits per coefficients. The linearity of the phase response is satisfied by making filter coefficients symmetric. Algorithm generates a population of genomes that represents the filter coefficients and compares the amplitude response of each genome to that of the desired amplitud...
An online sequential algorithm for the estimation of transition probabilities forjump Markov linear systems
Orguner, Umut (Elsevier BV, 2006-10-01)
This paper describes a new method to estimate the transition probabilities associated with a jump Markov linear system. The new algorithm uses stochastic approximation type recursions to minimize the Kullback-Leibler divergence between the likelihood function of the transition probabilities and the true likelihood function. Since the calculation of the likelihood function of the transition probabilities is impossible, an incomplete data paradigm, which has been previously applied to a similar problem for hi...
