Theory and design of microwave fet frequency triplers
Bozkurt, İsmail; Demir, Şimşek; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2008)
Microwave frequency multipliers are very useful and advantageous components in microwave systems, especially, where the generation of high frequency sinusoidal signals is very difficult because of degrading performance of the solid state oscillators with increasing frequency. These components are frequently employed in diverse applications such as commercial wireless communication systems, microwave transmitters and receivers, and military systems. In the following work the basic principles of microwave FET...
Theory and applications of surface plasmon resonance sensors
Özdemircan, Furkan; Sayan, Gönül; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2021-2-12)
In this thesis, the electromagnetic theory of the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) phenomenon and its applications in optical sensing are investigated. An SPR sensor's operation is based on the excitation of surface plasmon waves (SPWs) at an interface between two different media, a metal layer, and a dielectric layer, with real parts of dielectric constants having opposite signs. The presence of the SPR shows itself with a sharp minimum in the reflection curve of the sensor that is operated by either the an...
