Kinetic analysis of central anatolia oil shale by combustion cell experiments
Iscan, A. G.; Kök, Mustafa Verşan; Bagci, A. S. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2007-06-01)
In this study, four oil-shale samples (Nigde-Ulukisla) excavated from Central Anatolia Turkey were analyzed where this region is believed to have a high potential of oil in its shale rich outcrops. The samples (similar to 40 g) were combusted at 50 psi gas injection pressure, at an air injection rate of 1.5 L min(-1) in a combustion-reaction cell. All the experiments were conducted up to 600 degrees C. The percentages of oxygen consumption and carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide production were obtained inst...
Kinetics and Mechanisms of Isothermal Devitrification in Amorphous Cu50Zr50
Cullinan, Tim; Kalay, Ilkay; Kalay, Yunus Eren; Kramer, Matt; Napolitano, Ralph (2015-02-01)
The crystallization kinetics and microstructural dynamics associated with devitrifying a melt-spun Cu50Zr50 metallic glass were investigated using isothermal treatments, in situ high-energy synchrotron X-ray diffraction, conventional and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, and differential scanning calorimetry. The analysis of isothermal transformations allows us to more clearly unravel the complex interplay between nucleation and growth of competing stable and metastable phases. The isotherma...
Kinetics of nanoscale precipitation in Ni-Fe-Al alloys: A magnetic monitoring approach
DUMAN, Nagehan; Mehrabov, Amdulla; Akdeniz, Mahmut Vedat (Elsevier BV, 2011-06-16)
In this study, time-temperature dependence and kinetic aspects of nanoscale precipitation responsible for strengthening of Ni(50)Fe(x)Al(50-x) alloys with x = 20, 25 and 30 were investigated by temperature-scan and isothermal magnetic measurements in a vibrating sample magnetometer. Temperature-scan magnetization curves contained a magnetization rise for all studied alloys at temperatures above the Curie transition of the primary phase. These transient rises at relatively higher temperatures were associated...
