While the early diagnosis of hematopoietic system disorders is very important in hematolgy, it is a highly complex and time consuming task. The early diagnosis requires a lot of patients to be followed-up by experts which, in general is infeasible because of the required number of experts. The differential blood counter (DBC) system that we have developed is an attempt to automate the task performed manually by experts in routine. In our system, the cells are segmented using active contour models (snakes an...
An integrated vendor-buyer model with quadratic demand under inspection policy and preservation technology
Pervin, Magfura; Roy, Sankar Kumar; Weber, Gerhard Wilhelm (2020-01-01)
An integrated vendor-buyer model for deteriorating items is formulated in this study. To control deterioration rate, the vendor adopts preservation technology. Shortages are allowed for both vendor and buyer. During shortage period, the vendor simply doubles the production rate to meet the demand of buyer. The vendor's demand during non-shortage period follows a constant rate but, the demand is a quadratic decreasing function of time in shortage period. The buyer's demand is a quadratic increasing function ...
An Advanced Presence Detection System Using the CMOS Infrared (CIR) Technology
Arslan, Tugay; Cilbir, Gorkem; Tepegoz, Murat; Akın, Tayfun (2017-04-13)
This paper presents the development of advanced presence detection system using the CMOS infrared (CIR) technology. The recent advancements on microbolometer type uncooled LWIR imaging sensor technology allowed to reduce the fabrication cost of the microbolometer type detectors and the overall wafer cost and therefore to increase the use of this technology in a number of emerging applications, including various consumer applications and advance presence detection systems for smart buildings and smart office...
