Bu çalışmanın amacı, 2000–2006 yılları arasında Eğitim Araştırmaları Dergisi, Hacettepe Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Dergisi, İlköğretim Online E-Dergi ve TED Eğitim ve Bilim Dergisi’nde matematik eğitimi alanında yayınlanan çalışmaları inceleyerek, Türkiye’de matematik eğitimi araştırmalarının genel durumuyla ilgili bir çerçeve çizmektir. Çalışmada toplam 129 makale incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, yedi yılda matematik eğitiminde yapılan çalışmaların çoğunluğunun örneklem bazında ilköğretim öğrencileri ve öretmen adayları ile araştırma balıkları bazında bilişsel, duyusal boyutlar ve öğretim yöntemleri konularında yapıldığını göstermiştir. Çalışmaların çoğunluğunun deneysel çalışmalar olduğu, nicel yöntemlerle, test ve anket kullanarak yapıldı belirlenmiştir. Matematiksel konu başlıkları bazında en fazla yayının sayılar ve geometri konularında, bölge bazında İç Anadolu bölgesindeki üniversitelerin eğitim fakültesi mensupları tarafından yapıldığı belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada genel olarak matematik eğitimi araştırmalarının artması gerektiği ve benzer çalışmaların yapılması önerilmektedir.
