Analysis of the Heat Capacity for Pure CH4 and CH4/CCl4 on Graphite Near the Melting Point and Calculation of the T-X Phase Diagram for(CH3)CCl3+CCl4
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (2016-06-15)
We study the temperature dependence of the heat capacity C-p for the pure CH4 and the coadsorbed CH4/CCl4 on graphite near the melting point. The heat capacity peaks are analyzed using the experimental data from the literature by means of the power-law formula. The critical exponents for the heat capacity are deduced below and above the melting point for CH4 (T-m = 104.8 K) and CH4/CCl4 (T-m = 99.2 K). Our exponent values are larger as compared with the predicted values of some theoretical models exhibiting...
Investigation of localized levels in GaS0.5Se0.5 layered crystals by means of electrical, space-charge limited current and photoconductivity measurements
Qasrawi, AF; Hasanlı, Nızamı (Wiley, 2002-11-16)
To identify the localized levels in GaS0.5Se0.5 single crystals, the dark electrical conductivity, current-voltage characteristics and photoconductivity measurements were carried out in the temperature range of 250-400 K. Temperature dependence of dark electrical conductivity and the space-charge limited current studies indicate the presence of a single discrete trapping level located at 0.31 eV below the conduction band with a density of about 1.3 x 10(15) cm(-3). The conductivity data above 320 K reveal a...
Evaluation of latent heat of solidification of grey cast iron from cooling curves
Çetin, Asude; Kalkanlı, Ali (2005-01-01)
The temperature history in the casting obtained from cooling curves can be used to determine some information related to latent heat release during alloy solidification. This work presents a procedure for the evaluation of latent heat of primary and eutectic solidification of grey cast iron from cooling curves based upon the Newtonian cooling principle. The thermal data obtained from quik-cups are processed with the Mathcad code in order to obtain the cooling curve, its first and second derivatives and the ...
Investigation of traps distribution in GaS single crystals by thermally stimulated current measurements
Delice, S.; Isik, M.; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2021-04-01)
Thermally stimulated current (TSC) investigations of p-GaS (gallium sulfide) single crystals grown by Bridgman method were achieved by virtue of consecutive experiments carried out at various heating rates in between 0.4 and 1.0 K/s in the temperature range of 10-280 K. One single TSC peak around 148 K and overlapped, incomplete peaks in the end limit temperature of the experiments were observed in the spectrum recorded at constant heating rate of 1.0 K/s. Individual peak was analyzed utilizing curve fittin...
Evaluation of Turkish oil shales - Thermal analysis approach
Kök, Mustafa Verşan (2001-12-01)
In this research, thermal characteristics of three Turkish oil shales (Himmetoglu, Beypazari and Hatuldag) were studied by thermal analysis techniques (differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetry and pressurised differential scanning calorimetry). Two distinct exothermic peaks were identified in all experiments known as low-temperature oxidation and high-temperature oxidation reaction regions. Kinetic data were analysed by Arrhenius, and Coats and Redfern models and the results are discussed.
