| Abstract: | The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources (KDFWR) proposes to construct a new stream channel, approximately 6,000 linear feet (LF), to increase habitat and to provide a more stable outlet for the water discharged from Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery (WCNFH) to the Cumberland River. The proposed channel will redirect waters from entering the existing discharge channel section. For this document the existing discharge channel refers to the section of stream from the end of the rip-rapped section to the Cumberland River. The U.S. Army USACE of Engineers (USACE) is considering approval of a Real Estate license and temporary construction easement to the KDFWR to allow construction of the project on 45 acres of Lake Cumberland lands. In addition a Department of the Army Permit (DA), to include a Mitigation Plan (MP), would be issued for the proposed project to address stream and wetland impacts, as well as a Master Plan Supplement to the Lake Cumberland Master Plan. |
