| Abstract: | This report presents the findings of a study to reaffirm, for purposes of specific authorization, the economic justification, environmental acceptability, and engineering feasibility of the plan previously recommended in the Turpentine Run Detailed Project Report and Environmental Assessment prepared in 1990, amended in 1992 and approved in 1994. The recommended plan in the Detailed Project Report was developed to address flooding problems in the Turpentine Run/Nadir area. The plan was approved by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters in 1994, however, the project was not constructed because contractor bids exceeded the awardable threshold. The non-Federal sponsor for this project is the Department of Public Works for the United States Virgin Islands (USVI). |
