| Abstract: | O presente trabalho trata da preservação arquitetônica no Brasil desde a criação do IPHAN, em 1937, por ela representar o passo efetivo na proteção do nosso patrimônio cultural, juntamente com a atuação de um dos seus personagens mais influentes, Lucio Costa. Com o objetivo de entender como o patrimônio vem sendo trabalhado, procuraremos analisar como se tem dado a interação entre o novo e o velho, desde então. Paralelamente à investigação do amadurecimento na forma de abordar o patrimônio, da evolução das recomendações e teorias de restauro e dos conceitos e valores no cuidado com a herança brasileira, vamos trabalhar com as ações, propriamente ditas, de intervenção restaurativa em preexistências, sejam elas edificações ou núcleos históricos de interesse de preservação, as quais ilustrarão essa trajetória de 70 anos. Essas ações, acreditamos, ajudarão a nos posicionar de modo, cada vez mais, crítico em relação à nossa atuação contemporânea e, possivelmente, a contribuir com questionamentos que venham gerar bases mais consistentes para a construção de nossos princípios e parâmetros de preservação. Assim, á luz de um acordo entre a permanência dos testemunhos da nossa História, o nosso modo de vida e as novas necessidades do mundo atual, pretendemos prestar uma contribuição na busca do desenvolvimento social, cultural, econômico e político que acreditamos ser alcançado somente através da aliança entre a tradição e as ações transformadoras. |
| Abstract: | This paper deals with architectural preservation in Brazil since the creation of IPHAN, in 1937, due to the fact that it represents the actual step in the protection of our cultural heritage, along with the performance of one of its most influential characters, Lúcio Costa. Aiming to understand how our architectural heritage is being worked on, our proposal is to analyse how the interaction between the new and old has been happening since then. Alongside, the investigation of the development in how heritage has been tackled, of changes in recommendations and restoration theories and of concepts and values in the care of Brazilian heritage, we will work with actions that involve interventions in preexistences whether historic buildings or sites in the interest of preservation that can illustrate the history of the seventy-year path and which we believe will help us in taking an increasingly critical position in relation to our contemporary performance and possibly, help us with questions that will generate stronger foundations for us to build our principles and parameters of preservation. Thus, in the light of an agreement among the permanence of our historic evidences, our way of life and the changing needs of today's world, we want to make a contribution in the pursuit of development - social, cultural, economic and political - which we think would be achieve |
