Abstract: This investigation work had as its objective to understand the conceptions and meanings of the historical learning for History teachers and the relationship the history teachers establish with the knowledge they teach. To achieve the proposed objectives, the investigation methodology, considering its qualitative nature, was based on the semi-structured interview founded on Lessard-Hebert, M; Goyette, G and Boutin, G (2005) and in the analysis of the content referenced on Franco (2003). In this investigation, the subjects were 4 History teachers that worked in the Basic Education, placed geographically in the Southern Region of Curitiba and the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba. In theoretical terms, the discussion on the historical learning has as a dialogue, on one hand, the reference of the History Theory in the perspectives of Jörn Rüsen (1992; 2001; 2006; 2007 and 2009), David Lowenthal (1998), Michel Oakeshott (2003) and Reinhardt Koselleck (1993), and on the other hand, the dialogue with the reference of the educational transposition (CHEVALLARD, 2005), considering the investigations by Monteiro (2002), Anho n (2003), Urban (2009), Grendel (2009) and Rodrigues Júnior (2010). Considering these references, we finished the theoretical discussion, in the comparison between the reference of the educational transposition and the one of the historical literacy (BARCA, 2006; LEE, 2006). We discussed the theoretical reference about the relationship the history teachers establish with the knowledge they teach from the references of the relationship with the knowledge based on the practice (TARDIF, 2002) and in the social experience (DUBET and MARTUCCELLI, 1998; DUBET, 2005). The nature of the teacher’s work, the discussion about the relationship they establish with the knowledge they teach, was based on the ideas by Kuenzer (2008) and Karel Kosik (1976). The results of the investigation show that the conceptions of historical learning of history teachers are far from a learning conception located in the history science, which may be explained by the dimension of their experiences with the knowledge they teach.
