Livros didáticos de ciências : a cultura local como fator de influência sobre sua escolha e uso por professores do Ensino Fundamental

Resumo: Apresenta resultados de investigação que teve como objetivo analisar a construção de relações entre a comunidade em que uma escola está inserida e as práticas pedagógicas dos professores de Ciências, tomando como foco a escolha e o uso do livro didático dessa disciplina. A pesquisa foi realizada com professoras do 5º ano de uma escola de zona rural, de uma escola indígena e de uma escola urbana, localizadas, respectivamente, nos município de Rebouças, Inácio Martins e Irati, no estado do Paraná. Teve como pressupostos teóricos o conceito de cultura de Williams (1992, 2011), relacionado às mudanças econômicas, sociais e políticas; a concepção de cruzamento de culturas na formação da cultura escolar de Pérez Gómez (2004), que sustenta compreender a escola como uma mediação cultural e considera a sua rede de significações; a conceituação de cotidiano escolar e as relações existentes no mundo escolar conforme o entendimento de Ezpeleta e Rockwell (1989) e Rockwell (1995, 1997); o conceito de "habitus" do indivíduo e a apropriação do capital cultural de Bourdieu (2010), e o entendimento do livro didático como artefato cultural que afeta a escolarização de formas diferenciadas e a ação do professor em toda sua trajetória, segundo Choppin (2000,2004), Batista (1999) e Garcia (2006, 2008). Os dados foram obtidos a partir das respostas dadas a um questionário e pela concessão de entrevistas pelas professoras participantes, visando identificar e compreender as influências que a cultura local exerce sobre as decisões de escolha e de uso dos livros didáticos por parte dessas professoras de Ciências. No que se refere ao uso, foi possível constatar que as professoras procuram adaptar o livro à realidade local e que, especificamente no ensino de Ciências, os conteúdos, direcionados pelo plano curricular, são adaptados de acordo com as especificidades dos alunos. Da mesma forma, os critérios de escolha correspondem a necessidades locais dos alunos, porém oportunizando um aprendizado que amplie e ofereça uma visão mais abrangente de novos saberes. Abstract: Presents results of a study which had as an objective analyze the building of the relationship between the community where the school is included and the teaching practice of Science teachers, focusing on the choice and use of the textbook in this subject. The study was carried out with fifth-grade teachers from three different schools: a countryside school located in Rebouças; an indigenous school in Inácio Martins and an urban school in Irati, all of them in the State of Paraná. This study is based on the theoretical assumptions of culture (WILLIAMS, 1992, 2011) related to economical, social and political changes which affect and are affected by society?s actions; the concept of cross-culture in the understanding of school culture formation (PÉREZ GÓMES, 2004) which states that the school might be a link to understand culture and its wide meaning; the concept of school daily life and the relationship there is in the school environment from the point of view of Ezpeleta and Rockwell (1989) and Rockwell (1995,1997); the concept "habitus", the appropriation of the cultural heritage (BOURDIEU, 2010) the understanding of the textbook as a cultural product that affects schooling in different ways, and the teachers? actions in all their path presented by Choppin (2000, 2004), Batista (1999), and Garcia (2006, 2008). The data were obtained through a questionnaire, and also interviews were carried out with the teachers involved in this study in order to understand the relationship within the choice and use of textbooks, and from these figures, it was possible to identify the presence of local culture and its meanings in the teaching practice. In regard to the use of books, it was possible to notice that they are adapted by teachers and especially in the Science teaching content, guided by the curricular plan, it is adapted according to the students? peculiarities. Same way, the criteria of the books choice correspond to the local needs of the students, however giving them a learning experience that broadens and offers a wider view of knew knowledge.
