Hamburg at the Imperial Diet of 1640-'41, a New Diplomatic History
- Author
- Quartero, Felix
- Note
- This study has aimed to add to the discipline of New Diplomatic History, using Hamburg as a case for non-sovereign diplomacy and focussing on the everyday dealings of the city's diplomats. Especially the role of lower-ranking bureaucrats, dignitaries' servants and civilians in facilitating Hamburg's diplomats at the Regensburg 'Reichstag' is interestingly profound.
