Abstract: Quirindi Preschool is a 40-place preschool located in northern NSW near Tamworth. In the last year the educators, led by Director Alison Thompson, have extended their program through a 'Collaboration with children project' which has included regular bushwalks, community visits and an artist in residence exploring ephemeral art. In this article, Alison and a parent, Charmiane, share perspectives about the ongoing project, particularly highlighting a bushwalk. They identify what the project means in terms of children's learning and the roles of educators and families. There are also broader links embedded here to education for sustainability, connectedness with nature and community, collaborative partnerships and children as experts leading their own learning.
