Description

Pauline Markham was a dancer, singer, and burlesque performer. She studied singing at the Royal Academy of Music in London before moving to New York, where she introduced Victorian burlesque to America as a member of the British Blones. It is unknown what, if any connection she had to the Merriman family. This photo was in the middle of a family album originating from Aberdeen Scotland dated May of 1870.
