Fantastic Tales of Sport: notes about an anthology · The essay offers an analysis of the anthology Fantastic Tales of Sport (1980), edited by the skilled sports journalist Giuseppe Brunamontini and published in a series of fiction for children. The peculiarities of the individual stories and the overall layout of the volume demonstrate the mainly pedagogical intent of the book; yet, through the different narrative and stylistic possibilities offered by the fantastic mode, some stories are of sure interest, especially those of writers of great literary quality such as Giovanni Arpino and Enzo Striano.
