Resumen
The most frequent wear that occurs in machine elements is abrasive wear, which, as a consequence of irregularities in counter-bodies, the detachment of particles from the surface or the action of external agents, leads to the appearance of grooves and the deterioration of the surface of materials. For the analysis of this phenomenon, the University of Ibagué has a wear test bench under the ASTM G-65 [1] standard, which presents problems in the reproduction of the test due to its design, in addition to not having instrumentation that allows the measurement of variables of interest such as test time, friction force (coefficient of friction) and contact temperature. The purpose of this project is to mechanically redesign the structural components, which so far affect the reliability of the results obtained in the tests, as is the case of the abrasive storage and dosage system, the system of assembly, disassembly and fixation of work loads, among others. It also seeks to select and install the instrumentation required for the measurement and subsequent analysis of variables related to the wear behavior of the materials mentioned above. Once the bench is redesigned and instrumented, wear tests will be performed to verify the functionality and easy operation of the bench.
