Özet
Dil ve düsünme arasindaki iliski kuramsal açidan da deneysel açidan da
çaglar boyunca ilgi çekmistir, çekmeye de devam etmektedir. Dilbilimciler,
felsefeciler, ruhbilimciler bu konuda birçok görüs ortaya koymuslar, ancak ortak bir
noktada henüz anlasamamislardir.
Bu arastirmada disiplinlerarasi bakis açisina önem verilmis ve bu noktada
psikolojinin iki önemli ismi Vygotsky ile Piaget ele alinmistir. Vygotsky ve Piaget,
özellikle bilissel teori konusunda çalisan; dil-bilis arasindaki iliskiyi ortaya koyma
çabasinda olan psikologlardir. Bu iki psikologun karsilastirmasini yapmadan önce,
yöntemsel düsünce olarak iki bin bes yüz yil öncesine giden felsefe tarihi içinde
özellikle düsünme-dil baglantisini irdeleyen düsünürler kisaca incelenmistir.
Böylelikle dilin gerek insan gerek toplumlarin gelisimi üzerinde oynadigi rolün
önemi belirtilmeye çalisilmistir.
Çalisma boyunca Vygotsky ve Piaget’nin görüsleri ayri ayri degerlendirilmis
ve bunu yaparken de birinin digerinden daha iyi düsündügünü kanitlamak yerine her
ikisinin de düsünme ve dil arasindaki kuramsal boyuttaki farkliliklarinin ortaya
konmasi hedeflenmistir. Çalismada da görülecegi gibi, hem Piaget hem de
Vygotsky’e göre dil ve düsünme arasinda çok yakin bir baglanti söz konusudur.
The relation between thought and langua ge has both theoretically and empirically drawn attention for ages; and it still does. Linguists, philosophers, and psychologists have so far put forward many ideas, but they haven’t yet come to an agreement on a common point. In this research, close attention has been paid to interdisciplinary study, and at this point, two important names in psychology, Vygotsky and Piaget, have been referred to. Vygotsky and Piaget were psychologists who worked particularly on the cognitive theory and tried to put forth the relation between language and cognition. Before comparing these two psychologists, especially the philosophers who analyzed the relation between thought and language have been surveyed methodically in the history of philosophy that goes back two thousand and five hundred years. The importance of the part that language plays on the development of both human and society has hereby been exuded. Throughout the research Vygotsky’s and Piaget’s ideas have been assessed separately, and while doing this, bringing the differences between their approaches to the theoretical aspect of language and thought out into the open rather than proving which man’s thoughts are more valid than the other’s. As it can be seen in this research, there is, according to both Vygotsky and Piaget, a close relation between language and thought.
