[en] Combining reactive magnetron sputtering with dip coating, Pt impregnated WO3 films for sensing H2 were produced. The microstructure, chemical composition and crystallographic phase of the films were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and X-ray Diffraction. The effects of heat-treatment and the working temperature on H2 sensing characteristics were evaluated. A poor recovery of the sensors resistance at the onset of the H2 sensing test was observed. Thermal treated sensors at 450°C for 24 h showed improved recovery characteristics.
