Abstract :
[en] Due to the necessity to exploit in the future reservoirs more and more deep and uncertainty in the barrel price, the oil and gas industry will need to optimize its all process costs and by the way, its drilling operations. This improvement goes through a better understanding of destruction mechanisms of rocks in a confined environment caused by deep drilling conditions. On this poster, I present a numerical Discrete Element Method modelling to study the impact of the confining pressure on the cutting mechanisms involved by PDC drilling tools.
