Abstract :
[en] A3TS Conférence 2019, Faculté polytechnique de MONS (FPMs), MONS, Belgium, EU Authors: Pierre DUPONT. Fatigue of Materials & Mechanical Components, its understanding and also its practice in Industrial Design still remains a huge question to many engineer's eyes and this due its complex mechanisms and numerous drivers involved that are not necessarily always well understood. The mode of fracture and issue being always "brittle", this introduces in the component design and material selection a risk that is not always well perceived but that needs to be encircled by the designer or at least, understood, by the key user(s). Uniaxial, volumetric, superficial or rolling contact fatigue, multiaxial, synchronal or out of phase multiaxial, LCF, HCF and UHCF of ductile and brittle materials are such parameter that need to be understand. Influence of microstructure, loads, frequencies and many other parameters are shortly described and treated in a synthetic way from the phenomena up to the Design Criteria and Failure Prevention consideration.
