[en] In this work, the effect of an isothermal heat treatment at 300°C on the evolution of the microstructure and the mechanical properties of welded dissimilar austenitic stainless steels 316L to 316 was studied by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, analysis by energy dispersive spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and hardness measurements. It has been found that the fuzion zone is different from the heat affected zone and also from the base metal. A fusion line was observed in the welded joint. The heat treatments at 300°C had a particular mechanical and mechanical effect on the fusion zone.
