Abstract: Bu tezde özellikle akademik çalışmalara destek olabilecek, eğitim ve araştırma maksadıyla kullanılabilecek küçük ölçekte rüzgâr-güneş enerji kaynaklarını temel alan hibrit bir enerji sistemi üzerinde tasarım ve pratik çalışma yapılmıştır.
In this thesis, design and practical implementation have been made on a small scale hybrid energy system based on wind-solar energy resources that can support academic studies and can be used for education and research purposes. In the scope of the study; based on meteorological data such as wind speed, solar radiation, and ambient temperature, a two-component energy system behaving as a wind turbine and photovoltaic panel has been proposed. In addition, the designed hybrid energy system is also supported by the maximum power point tracking algorithms that affect the efficiency of wind and solar energy systems, on which many academic studies have been carried out and are popularly used today. One of the important aspects of this study is that three different maximum power point tracking algorithms are loaded on the same microcontroller and the algorithm chosen by the user is run. In the thesis, firstly, studies were carried out on the wind turbine emulator that will behave as a wind energy source. In this context, an asynchronous motor and a direct current machine were coupled to create a motor-generator pair. Secondly, studies have been carried out on the solar simulator. A power conversion stage has been designed separately for both the solar array simulator and the wind emulator output, and the two power conversion stages are combined on a central DC bus. With these designed power stages, it is possible to convert the DC type energy from one voltage level to another and to operate the maximum power point tracking algorithms. In the thesis, a resistive load simulator and a micro inverter that can be used separately or together by both wind turbine emulator and solar simulator are designed. The outputs are connected to an inverter input to allow the feeding of wind and solar energy sources and alternating current loads. When the system is operated in hybrid, from the results obtained for different load values, it has been observed that the efficiency of maximum power point tracking algorithms is 88% on average. The designed and implemented hybrid energy system can behave as wind and solar energy generators in laboratory environment by using only meteorological data without needing access to wind and sunlight. The system makes it possible to use wind turbines and photovoltaic panels, which are not accessible at all times, and their operation in academic and educational environments can be observed. It is open to development in terms of system structure and allows the application of new algorithms and control methods.
