Space Construction Experiment Definition Study (SCEDS), part 3. Volume 2: Study resultsThe essential controls and dynamics community needs for a large space structures is addressed by the basic Space Construction Experiments (SCE)/MAST configuration and enhanced configurations for follow-on flights. The SCE/MAST can be integrated on a single structures technology experiments platform (STEP). The experiment objectives can be accomplished without the need for EVA and it is anticipated that further design refinements will eliminate the requirement to use the remote manipulator system.
