要旨
Our main interest in the latrunculin synthesis was the formation of the macrocycle by ring closing alkyne metathesis as an alternative to the macrolactonization strategies previously employed. Since latrunculin A, B, C and D all contains a Z-configured olefin, we wanted to investigate the possibility of reducing the resulting alkyne to a (Z)-alkene in the presence of one or two other double bonds.
