Analytical potential of vapour-phase Auger electron spectrometry

thesis
posted on 2018-12-19, 11:40 authored by Paul A. Hewitt
In contrast to the many hundreds of references to surface AS [Auger Spectrometry], relatively few investigations of gas phase species have been made, and certainly no investigation has been made into the potential of using AS for molecular analyses. In this thesis it will be shown how highly characteristic the molecular auger spectra are, and how the technique can be put on an equal footing with some of the better-established analytical techniques. The role of gas phase Auger electron spectrometry for molecular analysis should then become evident.
