online resource
posted on 2011-07-22, 08:53 authored by Liz WillisThis case study has been developed as part of the Engineering Subject Centre Teaching Awards 2005-2006, from data gathered through a demonstration of the teaching and learning materials available, interviews with the tutor and a student focus group.
In order to provide a focus for students within induction week, the School of Engineering Sciences at the University of Southampton introduced a group-based, hands-on design, build and test activity for all first year students. Prizes were awarded at the end of the week.
