Abstract :
[en] Some methodological aspects of the isotope dilution technique using 15N-leucine as a marker of the endogenous N secretions (choice of the precursor pool, time of blood collection, estimation of the isotopique equilibrium) were studied in pigs. Their effect on the estimation of the ileal endogenous N flow was limited. When 15N-leucine was replaced by 13C-leucine, the ileal endogenous N flow obtained with 13C was much lower than that obtained with 15N (1.4 vs 5.7g N/kg DM intake, respectively). The validity of the 13C-leucine infusion technique is questioned.
