Abstract :
[en] This report presents the overall findings of a three-tier study commissioned by ONDRAF/NIRAS, the Belgian radioactive waste management agency. It was conducted between June 2018 and December 2019 by a consortium consisting of the Universities of Antwerp, Liège and Maastricht. The research was conducted independently with an explicit focus on governance and process design. The central research question of the project is as follows: ‘HOW CAN A GOVERNANCE PROCESS BE DESIGNED THAT IS SUFFICIENTLY ROBUST AND FLEXIBLE TO GUARANTEE INTERGENERATIONAL STAKEHOLDER INVOLVEMENT AND THE SAFE MANAGEMENT OF B&C WASTE, BOTH NOW AND IN THE FUTURE?’
