| Abstract | Twelve chapters introduce the preparation, uses, and physical chemistry of silicone surfactants, focusing on silicone polyoxyalkylene copolymers that are surface active in aqueous systems. After an in...roductory chapter, the volume covers the synthesis and analysis of silicon surfactants, and details their surface activity and aggregation behavior. The next five papers discuss specific applications: polyurethane foam manufacture, personal care, coatings, fabric finishes and polymer surface modification, foam control, and agricultural adjuvancy. The final two chapters deal with two areas of recent activity--the unusual setting behavior of the trisiloxane surfactants and the ternary phase behavior of mixtures of silicone surfactants with water and silicone oils.
