The way of evaluating religion has changed in the course of the history of modern China. Recently, people started to find the new value of religion as a cultural resource for tourism. This viewpoint c...ould cause conflicts against the modern Chinese view of religion. For example, Marxist theory premises that religions should fade out in the course of modernization. Besides, Chinese government doesn’t allow utilizing religion for moneymaking. When people make ‘religious culture’ as a resource for tourism, they have to review such evaluation on religion.
