Absztrakt

The aim of this thesis is to describe and analyse the typical characteristics of the Tudor Monarchy based on rulers’ actions. In the explanation of this dynasty there will be special emphasis on the years of Herny VIII’s life, since his personality and his reign was outstanding among the Tudors. I attempt to emphasize the connection between Henry’s foreign policy and his series of marriages. This essay is an attempt to draw attention to the causes that motivated Henry to marry over and over again. The King was obsessed with the efficiency of England, so nearly all his marriages were made for supporting the interest of the state. I wish to highlight when and in what way he succeeded. Emphasis is placed on how the individual is subordinated to the state, since he could behead ministers or his wives without calm. Through his cruel decisions and acts I also intend to describe the system of punishment in those days.
