Absztrakt

The character of Irish mythology and the important function myths had in ancient Irish culture show how different the Irish way of thinking and consequently the view the Irish formed about the world is from the classical Western European tradition of looking at the universe. The existence of numerous modern literary works based on myths and the presence of mythical thinking in contemporary Ireland prove that this special attitude is a reality even today. Thus, Irish culture presents many similarities with Eastern cultures. (Introduction)
