The final objective of the project is to obtain a high-fidelity simulation environment in which
the influence of the control parameters of the system can be studied without the risk of the
aircraft falling.
To do this, firstly, a dynamic modelling of a specific type of quadrotor will be carried out, which
will simulate the real movement of the vehicle and return the data provided by the sensors.
Next, the open source ArduCopter autopilot will be modelled. To do this, the firmware code
written in C++ will be studied and the control loops will be replicated in Simulink, an
environment that will give us great flexibility. The controller consists of a series of cascaded
PIDs that command position and orientation.
Finally, the developed model will be validated and a characterisation of the aircraft will be
carried out. [--]
