Abstract
This chapter focuses on a specific feature of the relationship between the principle of solidarity and public international law. In particular, it discusses if and to what extent this principle can be applied to international investment law. First, it maps the normative frameworks where the principle of solidarity can be found in contemporary international law. Second, it explores if any of the mechanisms that are being developed to enhance the interaction between international investment law, corporate due diligence and access to reparations by victims of the wrongful activity of transnational corporations, a task in which the European Union and its Member States are playing an important role, could promote solidarity.
