Transformation of wavefront aberrations of holographic lenses for a general position of the exit pupil

Abstract

Equations are derived for determining third-order wavefront aberrations in the plane of the exit pupil from the known aberration in the plane of a holographic lens. Using the transformation equations of wavefront aberration when the plane of the exit pupil is parallel to the plane of the lens, the authors obtain the transformation equations of aberrations when these two planes are not parallel. An example is analyzed as a demonstration of the theoretical results.
