Análise do impacto económico dos eventos no concelho de Mirandela. Um contributo para a tomada de decisão na gestão dos eventos

Abstract

Os eventos assumem-se cada vez mais como uma das mais importantes estratégias utilizadas pelas entidades públicas e empresariais, de forma atrair um maior número de turistas. A presente dissertação pretendeu analisar o impacto económico dos eventos no concelho de Mirandela, com vista a um melhor contributo para a tomada de decisão na gestão dos eventos. Deste modo, realizou-se uma análise relativa aos eventos de maior relevo na região, de forma a identificar o perfil dos seus intervenientes, nomeadamente visitantes e expositores, assim como aferir o seu grau de satisfação e o impacto económico que estes representam para a região. Desta forma, para a realização deste estudo, foram aplicados inquéritos por questionário, aos expositores e visitantes, nos eventos selecionados: a Feira do Vinho e Morango, o Campeonato da Europa de Jet Ski e Aquabike e as Festas de Nossa Senhora do Amparo. A recolha dos dados decorreu no período de maio a agosto de 2016. A amostra foi constituída por 297 visitantes e 98 expositores. Neste estudo foi utilizada a análise descritiva e a análise inferencial, de forma a verificar as relações existentes entre as variáveis em análise. Os resultados obtidos mostraram que podemos comprovar que existe associação entre o tipo de evento e o local de residência dos visitantes, entre a situação profissional do visitante e o evento visitado, assim como a existência de diferentes níveis de satisfação de acordo com o evento. Constatou-se, também, a existência de relação entre o evento visitado e os gastos efetuados pelos visitantes.

More and more events are one of the most important strategies used by public and business entities in order to attract more tourists. The present paper aims to analyse the economic impact of the events in the municipality of Mirandela, with the view to improving the contribution towards the decision-making in the management of the events. An analysis of the major events in the region will be carried out in order to identify the profile of their participants, namely visitors and exhibitors, as well as to assess their level of satisfaction and the economic impact for the region. For this study, questionnaires were applied to exhibitors and visitors at selected events: the Feira do Vinho e Morango, the Campeonato da Europa de Jet Ski and Aquabike, and the Festas de Nossa Senhora do Amparo. The data collected it was between May and August 2016. The sample consisted of 297 visitors and 98 exhibitors. Therefore, the present investigation focuses on the analysis of the social and cultural and economic impacts that this tourism can represent in the region of origin, as well as to point out strategies to assume the region as a destiny of events of great quality, based on the theoretical framework which is mainly based on the events, on the management of events and on the impacts they cause on the evolution of tourism markets and on the consolidation of events as a reference brand in the region. In this study, a descriptive analysis and inferential analysis were used in order to verify the relationships between the variables under analysis. The results showed the association between the type of event and the place of residence of the visitors, between the professional situation of the visitor and the event visited, as well as the existence of different levels of satisfaction according to the event. It was also observed a relationship between the visited event and the expenses made by the visitors exists.
