ResumenIn the present paper we describe a study about the amino acid separation in fishery products by two-dimensional thin-layer chromatography, determining the solvents and the chromatographic conditions. So it is carried out a quantitative determination of amino acids by transmission densitometry comparing the results obtained in this way with the results obtained with the Technicon automatic amino acid analyser. The best results have been reached using "Merck" cellulose microcrystalline as adsorbent and the following solvent systems: First dimension solvent: 2-propanol-butanone-l N hydrochloric acid (60:15:25) Second dimension solvent: 2-methylpropanol-2-butanone-propanone-methanol-water-(O.88) ammonia (40:20:20:1:1415) Finally, and with mackerel protein hycrolysates, we could show there are no appreciable differences between the results obtained from densitometric valuation and those obtained from the Technicon automatic amino acid analyser.
